Overview

The “Unbalanced load protection” function detects unbalanced loads or line interruptions of electrical machines (generators and motors). Unbalanced loads create a counter-rotating magnetic field at double frequency in the rotor, and also overheat the damper winding.

For more detailed information on “Unbalanced load protection” function, refer to SIPROTEC 5 devices, V8.30 & higher manuals.
