Siemens / Shaft current protection (ANSI 51GN) _ Setting & highlights _ SI5099

Table of Contents

Overview

The “Shaft current protection” function detects shaft currents of a generator via special shaft-current transformer. It prevents the damage of the bearings due to a current flow to ground, and allows a flexible evolution of the shaft current with different measuring principles.

For more detailed information on “Shaft current protection” function, refer to SIPROTEC 5 devices, V8.30 & higher manuals.
