Siemens / Restricted ground fault protection function (ANSI 87N, REF) _ Setting & highlights _ SI5013

Table of Contents

Overview

The “Restricted ground fault protection” function detects ground faults in transformers, shunt reactors, neutral reactors or rotating machinery in which the neutral point is grounded. It has high sensitivity to ground faults near the neutral point and is supplemental main protection to longitudinal differential protection.

For more detailed information on “Restricted ground fault protection” function, refer to SIPROTEC 5 devices, V8.30 & higher manuals.
